Call for Bids: Landscaping Services for St. Martins By The Bay
Project Overview
St. Martins By The Bay invites qualified landscapers to submit bids for professional mowing, trimming, and general landscaping services. Contractors will maintain approximately four combined acres across various designated areas, providing consistent, high-quality service. This includes weekly and biweekly mowing, trimming, and debris blowing as detailed below.


Scope of Work
1. Mowing Services
  • Weekly Mowing: Areas marked in green on the provided map (less than 2 acres combined).
  • Biweekly Mowing: Areas marked in blue on the provided map (less than 2 acres).
2. Edging
  • Maintain edging in areas indicated in red on the provided map.
3. Trimming Responsibilities
  • Townhomes:
    • Perimeters of front, back, and side areas of townhomes and parking lots.
    • Weed management along the pavement, garages, walkways, parking and driveway asfalt, and back deck perimeters.
    • Front and back landscaping and flowerbed perimeters.
    • Drainage ditches along community roads.
    • Occasional trimming/mowing near road parking areas when accessible.
  • Common Areas:
    • Around parking lots, pump house, pool area, tennis courts, and warehouse.
    • Boat yard spaces unsuitable for mowing.
    • Trees, docks, and perimeters of Marshside landscaped areas (behind Townhome B).
  • Pool Area Access:
    • A key will be provided for access. Contractors must restrict access to work hours only and must not duplicate the key under penalty of law.
4. Post-Maintenance Cleanup
  • Blow walkways, driveways, decks, parking areas, and pool surroundings after mowing and trimming.


Equipment Requirements
Contractors must utilize professional-grade equipment capable of handling high-frequency use, including:
  • Mowers: Zero-turn or large ride-on mowers for open areas and walk-behind mowers for narrow spaces between townhomes.
  • Trimmers and Blowers: Commercial-grade tools for precision work and cleanup.


Schedule and Rain Contingencies
  • Dedicated Weekday Mowing: Services must be performed on a consistent weekday. Preferably every Thursday.
  • Rain Makeup Days: Rescheduling within three days of the original service day is required. Weekend mowing is permitted only as a rain makeup day.
  • St. Martins By the Bay has the right to cancel mows during times of drought or stunted growth.


Bid Qualifications
Contractors must:
  • Be equipped with commercial-grade tools capable of handling high-frequency landscaping.
  • Include all specified mowing, trimming, and cleanup tasks in their bid.
  • Provide detailed cost breakdowns for all services.
  • No bagging of grass clippings is required.
  • Provide optional "Non-Mow" weeks if not needed due to drought


Site Walkthrough
Prospective contractors are encouraged to request a property walkthrough before submitting bids. This will ensure a clear understanding of the work areas and specific requirements.
